Common public records requests for information we do not collect or maintain:

It is important to know that OIC does not collect or store insurance information about individual policyholders. Here are some examples of common requests for information that we cannot provide and links to help you find what you are looking for.

Can you help me find my father’s old life insurance policy?

We do not collect or keep records of any individual life insurance policy holders, but we have compiled a list of tips to help people find life insurance policies for their loved ones.

I got into an accident. Can you tell me what insurance the other driver has?

You will need to check with another driver. If law enforcement has received a request at the scene of an accident, it is a good idea to contact law enforcement to see if they have any information about the other driver.

Can you send me the information about the insurance claim I made?

Can you send me the insurance policy information for the home/business at 123 Main Street?

At OIC, we do not collect or maintain records of individual policyholders. If you want to know about home or business insurance coverage, you need to ask the property owner.

Can you tell me if there have been insurance claims against a particular property?

We do not collect or maintain records of property-specific claims. But LexisNexis®, a consumer reporting agency, does produce the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE) report. This can be useful if you are looking for information about claims.
