Nebraska and Playfly Sports announce 15-year media rights agreement

Nebraska and Playfly Sports, an emerging leader in sports marketing, media and technology, today announced a new 15-year multimedia rights agreement. This agreement makes Playfly Nebraska the exclusive MMR rights holder and sponsoring division effective October 1, 2022.

Nebraska’s partnership with Playfly will leverage the company’s expertise in multimedia rights and leverage its extensive suite of marketing and media solutions to further develop the Huskers brand at the regional, national and global levels. Together, Nebraska and Playfly will work to maximize MMR’s traditional assets, such as on-site signage and broadcast elements, in addition to leveraging Playfly’s full suite of capabilities to enhance Nebraska’s digital footprint and enhance the fan experience.

The addition of Nebraska to Playfly’s growing portfolio marks its third Big Ten program in its growing portfolio of college properties, joining Michigan State University and the University of Maryland, in addition to the company’s partnership with the Big Ten Network. In total, Playfly now controls more than 35 university and high school association properties with integrated capabilities that go beyond traditional media rights, including naming rights and evaluation consulting, eSports programming development, digital technology offerings and unique sponsorship innovations such as recently developed by Campus Live.

The new MMR agreement between Nebraska and Playfly Sports is pending approval by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. This issue is included in the agenda of the board meeting on September 30.
