Take a look at its cost and which states it’s available in

Tesla Insurance is a competitive insurance product that offers Tesla owners a new option.

Tesla has a unique understanding of its cars, technology, safety features and repair costs, which helps eliminate some of the fees associated with traditional insurance companies. Tesla Insurance provides a convenient monthly payment and easy claims management through the Tesla app.

It also gives you partial control because your insurance premium is partially dependent on your driving habits.

Where is Tesla insurance available?

The service is currently only available in select US states, but it continues to expand to other states. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the company will also expand to Canada in the future.

Tesla insurance is now available to Tesla owners in the following states:

Additional vehicles

Tesla insurance covers not only Tesla cars, but also any other vehicles you own.

You can add additional vehicles at the time of policy submission.

However, Tesla Insurance is currently limited to vehicles, and Tesla does not offer home insurance or other types of insurance policies.

What you get with Tesla insurance

With Tesla Insurance, you can view documents, invoices, payment details and submit claims, all in the Tesla app.

Like other insurance companies, there are many plans with different levels of coverage depending on your needs.

How does Tesla insurance work?

Tesla collects data from the vehicle that helps evaluate how the vehicle is driven.

Unlike other insurance products, Tesla does not require the installation of an additional device in the vehicle. Instead, Tesla uses features already included to determine how often the vehicle is driven and how often the driver follows too closely or stops abruptly.

This data is then used to determine the driver’s insurance premium.

The insurance premium also takes into account the model of the vehicle, the location of the insured and the distance the vehicle has been driven.

Tesla Insurance users pay monthly premiums based on driving behavior rather than factors commonly used by other insurance companies, such as credit history, age, gender, claim history and driving.

Tesla insurance cost

Each insurance company has different factors in determining their costs and the likelihood of their customers getting into an accident. While Tesla insurance can save you money, it can also cost more than the alternatives available in your state.

According to Tesla, “the average driver can save between 20% and 40%, and the safest drivers can save between 30% and 60%.”

We’ve seen scenarios where Tesla Insurance has saved someone hundreds of dollars a month, but we’ve also seen it cost significantly more than its competitors.

There are many factors that determine your insurance premium. If you’re new to Tesla or haven’t been in a store in a few years, we recommend getting a free quote from Tesla to see if Tesla insurance can save you money.

Additional side airbag for better safety

The Model Y is one of the safest production vehicles ever, as Tesla continually takes steps to improve its outstanding safety ratings.

The latest safety improvement comes from Tesla China, where Gigafactory Shanghai has started producing Y models with an optional airbag.

The new airbag optimizes the overall safety of the Model Y and can help prevent front passengers from colliding with each other. Thanks to the new update, the Giga Shanghai-built Y models are now equipped with an optional far side airbag as standard.

Tesla has officially announced the addition of a new airbag on the Chinese-made Model Y on Weibo. The translation says:

“Design with safety first! Tesla China’s intelligently crafted Model Y has been equipped with “remote airbags” as standard equipment to fully protect your safety while traveling. #Tesla uses intelligent safety to protect every consumer and the safety gene is always the same #ThisisTesla

An additional side airbag is installed on the inside of the driver’s seat. When deployed, the airbag can significantly reduce contact injuries between front occupants in a side impact. According to Euro NCAP, around 25% of road traffic injuries are the result of side impacts.

This update can make a big difference in side crashes where passengers tend to crash into each other.

The addition of a new airbag in Made in China (MiC) Model Ys is likely one of many recent updates to the Model Y production line at Gigafactory Shanghai. Based on this, we may soon see an optional far side airbag added to the Chinese-made Model 3, whose production lines at Giga Shanghai have also recently been upgraded.

We can also see this update rolling out to other Gigafactories around the world in the near future. As we’ve seen with other Tesla features, Tesla often adds a feature at one factory and then updates other factories when possible.

Tesla will release the first Tesla Semis this year

Tesla’s first electric semi-truck will have a range of 500 miles and begin shipping this year, according to a tweet from Elon Musk, the founder and CEO. Previously, Musk said that the model will appear on the roads in 2023, as well as the Tesla pickup, which was named the Cybertruck. Cybertruck’s projected arrival date has not changed.

The Tesla Semi Truck, introduced in November 2017, is designed for long-distance cargo transportation. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 20 seconds while hauling a full load, faster than most diesel trucks.

The Tesla Semi Truck’s range of 500 miles on a single charge is more than double the range of the Daimler eCascadia electric truck with the longest range on the market, which has a range of 230 miles.
